The year is 1983. On the cold day of Jan. 18, Willie Johnson came into the world kicking and screaming. the doctor didnt even have to spank him. This was the 1st sign of greatness. Born and raised in the heart of East New York brooklyn, he came up in a single parent home. Being his mothers only son, she tried her best to keep him close and safe. Over the years Willie developed a thirst to learn that home couldnt quench anymore. As his mothers grip began to loosen the outside life grip got tighter. Spending more and more time in the streets than home, Willie found comfort, trust and loyalty in a handful of friends. moving as a tight unit, they dubbed themselves “The Baker G.O.Ds”aka the “Tripod”.
Since the early stages of his life, Willie always had a love for music as well as poetry. It was only a matter of time before he would combine the two and find his true calling, Rap. It was at this point in his life when he began to go by the name Haylo. Performing at local parties and events, Haylo began to perfect his craft and quickly realized that music was more than just a hobby for him, it was a form of therapy, a release from his everyday struggle. He took up classes at IAR to become more familar with the studio enviorment. It was here where he ran into the man who would later become the driving force behind the whole Fallout movement. From their 1st session Haylo and D boards both believed that it was more than a coincedence that they were brought together, and began to make classic music that they continue to make till this day.
Haylo grew up listening to all genres of music, but he got alot of his musical influence from what he would like to call the golden era of hiphop(the 90s). Artist like Biggie, Jay-Z, Wu Tang, Nas, Tupac, Redman, were all factors in making artist Haylo had become. To sum Haylo the artist up in a word or two, I would call him the “Blueprint artist”. The look, the character, the dedication, and the drive are all present every time he graces the mic. He has a distinct hunger in his eyes that you can actually feel within his words. Just when it seemed that all the pieces were falling into place, 1/3 of the tripod, Montega Steez, got sentenced to 10 years in prison. Being one of the major pieces to the puzzle, it would seem that all was lost, but Haylo wouldnt let any hurdle stop him. He took a oath to get better, move forward; counting down to the return of his right hand.
With the help of D Boards, Haylo continues to push the Fallout Movement to new hieghts. Performing at local New York spots such as, Club Karma, Pyrimid, Club Midway and Club Aura just to name a few, his buzz is growing at a unstopable rate. he stands only at 5′ 9″, but on the mic he seems gigantic. He has a love for music that alot of artist nowadays lack. Being half black and half pueto rican his roots are made up of strength and spice. If the music industry is indeed missing anything at all, it is Haylo!
