Only a handful of miles from where the twin towers once stood, Kimbo 3:04 was born.Manhattan’s lower east side is the place that can be called a Mecca for art.
A shining star of the eighties and nineties, Kimbo always had a deep interest in music. He was a fascinating break dancing master and was learning the tricks of the DJ trade by the age of 15.
While in junior high he joined the school band as a lead drummer.”Drummer Boy” became his nickname and soon after he was his junior high school’s guru disc jockey for ALL
parties! Now having already been immersed in the music scene as a teenager, at 16, KImbos’ pencil began to meet the lines. He picked up on rhyming and writing. His first inspiring beat was a classic from Black Sheep, Flavor of the Month which lead to a lyrical lashing.
Kimbo has realized the many difficulties of establishing a record label, seeing two previous endeavors fail. However he fully understands the importance of networking and being a team player. He knows now that Fallout Shelter Productions is a place he could call home as he is able to use his many talents in bringing this label to the forefront of hip-hop.
Kimbo works hard to keep a variety of talented artists in his circle. To name a few are John Q, Aryill, Haylo, Cise,The Black Ninja, D-Boards and the one and only Jayson Martinez. Kimbo has even had the opportunity to collaborate with artists from Puerto Rico. Raegaeton artist Ivy Queen, and El Playero,El Mexicano 777, and yes your eyes are correct The Tempo himself!
After, years of being unable to find a studio that he could call home, Kimbo was blessed with an opportunity to have a recording studio at his disposal through his compadre Big City. Kimbo heard opportunity knocking and opened the doors. With 12 hour days and lots of dedication, he taught himself how to record with equipment he thought he knew nothing about.
Kimbo King is a well rounded artist who masters in producing, rhyming, writing and composing.
Finally his musical journey led him to the promise land. He found his way to the Fallout Shelter camp through continuous efforts to keep his musical mission alive. Before solidifying his place in the shelter, 304 had already created two underground albums that unfortunately went by with little attention due not to the lack of talent in the music but marketing and promotion issues which Kimbo will not make excuses for, however will use them as a learning experience as his musical journey continues towards the peaks of hip-hop.
Geared with the support he always wanted, Fallout Shelter Productions… Kimbo plans to deliver his first debut solo project…The Napoleon Complex which will catch everybody by the neck, and show the true essence of New York hip-hop. That’s word to everything.
